The Fort Frances Power Corporation (FFPC) has personnel on-call 24 hours a day. Customers with electricity supply safety concerns or experiencing problems that require immediate attention, should call the above listed contact numbers. A FFPC representative will be available to respond.

Any concerns or problems regarding polelines, high voltage and services wires, transformers and/or any other electricity supply issues, please contact us immediately.

Customer Accounts

Customer accounts are processed at the Town of Fort Frances Civic Centre front desk.

Customers wishing to open an account must apply in person at the Civic Centre and sign an Application for Service form and review the Security Deposit policy.  To close an existing account, customers are required to visit the Civic Centre to sign out of their service in person.

Customer Billing

Fort Frances Power Corporation meters are read monthly and customer bills are generated on a monthly basis.  Customer billing inquiries can be made at the front desk at the Civic Centre or by calling the Civic Centre at 807-274-5323.

Rates

New Services and Upgrades

Customers planning to install a new electrical service or who plan to upgrade or relocate an existing service, must first contact FFPC’s General Superintendent to receive approval of the service change.

Call Before You Dig - Cable Locates

If you are planning to dig, auger, drive stakes or install fence post spikes into the ground, it is essential that you call the Fort Frances Power Corporation before you begin. There are many electrical hazards underground and locating information provided by the underground cable locating service can prevent a serious electrical accident. Arranging to have underground utilities located before you dig is also the law; reference the Ontario Occupation Health and Safety Act Construction Projects Section 228.

The underground cable locate service is free, so make safety a priority and "Call Before You Dig." Please call at least two working days prior to digging to schedule this service.

Also, do not forget to call all other utilities before you dig -- Town sewer and water, phone, cable and gas.

Tree Trimming

At times trees grow up through and around live electric power lines and can create a serious electrical hazard. Falling trees or branches during wind storms, heavy accumulations of snow or ice could also cause power outages. Proper tree trimming can minimize hazards and power interruptions. Please contact us for more information on our tree trimming policy and practices.
